Game 2 Sens vs. Pens
Wherein the boys finally find the stuff to keep going… But take a stupid penalty in the 3rd…
This is a quick post to say ‘hi’ to all the PensBloggers who’ve come over to wag their finger at me.
Hi!
I’ll have a detailed analysis up tomorrow as well as video review of the two non-penalty shot break away take downs. Hint: One should have been a penalty shot and it wasn’t called!
In short:
- We learned how to play again.
- Gerber was amazing.
- WWGRD? Absolutely nothing…
- Chris Neil is a playmaker?
- Stilman is solid with Heatley and Spezza.
That’s it for now. When I recover in the morning we’ll revisit and get ready for Monday. (Needless to say, I’m much more enthused about this series now… Oh yeah, you hear that Alfie may be back on Monday?)

yah, gary roberts was ineffective………..and you must be referring to the no call on the slash malkin received on his breakaway. ottawa is a joke, but not as much as this site. gerbet kept you in the game, but you expect him to do that the rest of the way???? Lets go pens!

Please await the analysis tomorrow. I’ve got the video. Slash on malkin, uh, no. Nice try. I’ll have both vids up tomorrow.

WWGRD? He would get in the sens heads and make them pay more attention to him than needed. How is the sale of Heatly seatbelts going? Not making much money? Don’t worry. He isn’t making much happen in the playoffs either. Pens in 5. Tell Dany to buckle up for the ride this time.

Wow. I shouldn’t have approved this comment, but then I could only assume the repercussions for not doing so. Are you truly that classless? Are you still in high school? Repeating a grade?

WOW YOU ARE A JOKE OF A SITE.
How enthused could you be?
Start something with a blog that gets more visits in 2 hours than you have in your life?
You get more views now, thanks to us at Pensblog!
But really, this series is over whether you like it or not.
And just remember, words don’t kill people… Heatley kills people, and his teams hopes at winning a series.
GOLF SENS GOLF!
Jokes.

And Roberts is still a presence.
WWGRD?
Win. Something you can’t do anymore.

Apparently doing nothing means providing a screen on the first goal and drawing the penalty that led to the second goal.

Lemur Attack : Apparently doing nothing means providing a screen on the first goal and drawing the penalty that led to the second goal.
It’s more a matter of not wanting to admit it his presence affects us at all. Getting harder and harder to do.
THE BIG K : Win. Something you can’t do anymore.
You’ve got that right, but of course that’s something we knew going into the series. And if we all agree that Ottawa sucks right now, a broken dressing room being the least of our problems, how do you explain the near comeback? The game you almost lost until Lapointe took a stupid penalty and let you win? Going up three nothing is quite the accomplishment until you leave your goalie out high and dry, unless you want to give respect to Ottawa for getting it together, at which point you might want to start worrying about what will happen next…
Of course, I know what’s going to happen, we will win Game 3, but you’ll get the rest. The contest was over a long time ago.
(Oh and you know nothing about my traffic so STFU.)

I explain the near comeback as a few luck ones that snuck threw MAF’s pads.
I also say that you HAD NO BUSINESS AT ALL BEING IN THAT GAME YOU WERE DOMINATED.
I tend to disagree. I think if you win at all, it’ll be game 4, just so the Pens can do it at home.

Obviously I’m a Pens fan, but there is no way those were penalties last night.
Objectively speaking even… the announcers (I had the CBC feed) were hooping and hollering for one to be called on LeTang but even retracted their words after seeing a better replay.
It was a hard fought game. Gerber stood on his head. The guy is coming up big. But to blame the loss on “non-calls” is ridiculous. It’s poor leadership on Murray’s part to do so just the same.
To be fair… had the Pens lost I would’ve shit a brick… but it wouldn’t have been because of “non-calls.” NOBODY could get a call in the 3rd period for both sides.
It all boiled down to the high-stick.
We all know that.

As for my lack of posting, you will notice that prior to Nov 21st I was posting per game multiple times per day. It was my thing. It is my thing again. I’m not a band-wagoner. I’ve a lovely following here and abroad. Work got in the way of the season. Gotta do the things that matter. It’s called prioritizing.
I understand being busy. Obviously work and your health issues come first, however I find it hard to believe that from 11/21/07-4/09/08 you only had time to post once. There were many Senators games going on during that time frame. I’m sure you watched some of them and yet you couldn’t post a one or two paragraph entry about them?
You=joke.
As for ‘jobbing’, man you guys have a serious case of pickle ass stuffing you need to deal with. Last year Sens and Sabres battled it out and had a awesome time of it. That’s all I was trying to do. Get some friendly rivalry going. I poke some fun and oh my, a bunch of high school kids try to take down my host. Nice. Classy. How does it feel to know that Buffalo outclasses you?
We’re jobbing each other… over Al Gore’s Internet… about sports. Calling us immature is like the pot calling the kettle black, my friend, because the Internet? That’s serious business.
While I don’t agree with (and didn’t participate in) trying to take down your host, I still would have laughed my ass off if it had happened. Why? Because funny is funny.
As for a friendly rivalry, this is a friendly rivalry. I don’t know if you fully understood what you were doing when you first jobbed us but I’ll tell you that it was rather ill-advised to start attacking the WWGRD lifestyle without having done your research. The Pensblog is a family and the members of C-Blog (Commentorblog, in case you didn’t know) will rabidly defend the blog and, above all, the team. But don’t think there is some sort of real hate involved in any of this, this is just friendly jobbing.
It’s all in fun… and if you can’t take this “onslaught” (or Don Slaught?) without whining, I guess you should be happy that by the end of April this will be the “Golf Fan In Toronto” blog.
April 12th, 2008 at 12:26 pm
You forget, I live in Toronto. At most I get to see maybe six Senators games a year in this market beyond when they play the Leafs. But you are right, I should have made a better commitment to my blog as I did earlier in the season. It is hard to argue against your logic.
Hey, I don’t mind a friendly rivalry. The fact that the first reaction was to try an take me out certainly clouds my judgement about your kin. If the first volley from your side was merely these comments (and as you have shown clearly the attacks against me are easy to come by) I’d say we were having good fun. But you guys ‘tried;’ to cross the line as your first response.
Thanks for the history of your Blog and Social. I’m glad there is such a following in Pittsburgh, the team needs you. I’d rather your team had been relocated to Hamilton but that’s another discussion altogether.
Um, where did I mention onslaught on this post? I can take it. I’m approving every comment that comes in and am repsonding. I don’t think I’m whining either. But hey, if you want to read what you want…

BlacknGold66 : Objectively speaking even… the announcers (I had the CBC feed) were hooping and hollering for one to be called on LeTang but even retracted their words after seeing a better replay.
The CBC announcers are chumps. They are all closet Leaf fans and it shows every night. The video clearly show LeTang yanking on the jersey just before he goes down… You’ll see later.
And I don’t think I said the game was lost due to non-calls. I just claimed that there should have been a penalty shot when there wasn’t. There is no guarantee that a penalty shot == goal. Specially the way Fluery has been playing.
Don’t bring up Murray, he’s an idiot and, puck gods willing, will be gone this summer.
You are correct, Gerber did stand on his head. Thanks.
BTW: beyond the assist, how are you liking Hossa in the playoffs. he at least two good chances in the crease last night and couldn’t complete. Something us Sens fans have known for awhile…
