Heatley To Be Signed By Next Week?
Tuesday, September 25th, 2007Are you kidding me?1 The Sun says that Murray is working over Dany’s agent to the tune of 7.5 - 9 million a season. Should be a pretty easy sell dependant on the length of the contract.
I can’t believe that they are trying to get this done this early. I mean, I’m estatic for the deal, but wow! Who’d have thunk it?
So whither Jason Speeza? Will Jason be cut loose next year? I really hope not, as he is nice and young and hot right now. It would be a real shame to lose him. But who would go instead? Redden?
The future may be a core built around Speeza, Heatley, Kelly, Vermette, Volchenkov, Mezaros, Fisher, Emery and Eaves. That coupled with a bunch of the young-uns… Not bad at all…
Fisher Stays! O’Neill to Join?
Monday, September 17th, 2007It is being reported1 that Ottawa will announce Fisher’s resigning today. All told: $21.5M for five years. Way to go guys.
Whoe knew Murray could be a good GM?
Speaking of which, apparently Murray is looking to Jeff O’Neill to suit up for the Sens soon2. This is interesting as I don’t know how much steam Jeffy has left in him. The talk is that he’d join Spezza & Heatley on the top line.

Kelly Resigned: My Apologies To Murray
Tuesday, July 31st, 2007TSN1 is reporting that the Ottawa Senators have resigned Chris Kelly to a one year deal thus avoiding a troika of arbitration hearings.
My personal apologies go out to Ottawa’s freshly minted GM Bryan Murray as apprently he does have the cahones to get the job done. (Although I suspect the Wade Redden watch23 begins today…)
