I’m stunned. Oleg decided¹ that $1 million isn’t enough to stick around for another year in Ottawa. He’s going to play back in mother Russia instead.

At least we’ve got a bit more wiggle room under the cap now. But I still feel I little ill seeing the team being picked apart. Every off-season I hope that we’ll stay together and get our chance again and next time we’ll be able to pull it through. But with every change, more chance and unknowns enter into the equation.

This past season we were so close and now I can’t assume that having given up a few members of that Cup running team that we’ll not get that close again anytime soon.

Ben from SensArmyBlog was the heavy favorie after getting two thirds of the big line in Spezza and Heatley by way of the snake draft. Who knew they’d be such non-factors? (sigh)

My secondary victory was propped up by a mean combination of secondary scoring anchored by the mighty captain Alfredsson and Fisher. Amazingly only Priessing didn’t notch a point. Here are my final stats:
